Rated second most beautiful
lake in the world
by the National Geographic Society.
Torch Lake is located just 1.5 miles west of Loons Landing.
By boat, it's just a 5 minute ride with easy access via the
Clam River. Torch Lake's beautiful sand, pastel green, turquoise, blue,
and dark blue hues shimmer in the sun like no other. Torch Lake
runs into Lake Skegemog, Elk Lake, and on into Lake Michigan from the Torch
River at its southern end.

volume and Second in size among Michigan inland lakes.
· The Native Americans called the lake
"Wass Waganing" (place of birch bark torch). They used torches to fish
at night.
